In addition to the endless regional cultural activities that are available year- round, in the summer, one can hike, mountain-bike or swim in the immediate area. The concerts, dance and theater activities are in full bloom! Farm stands are all around. In the fall, the changing foliage on the Berkshire hills is spectacular and leaf-peepers flock to the area. The fall is the best time to hike the numerous hills both across the street and the region. Fall fairs, hay rides, and pick- your- own offer lots of fun. In the winter, since the house is high up on a mountain and there is abundant snow, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are available out the door, no driving required. Try animal-tracking in the snow. The fireplace awaits at home to warm you up. And there are several ski areas to choose from, the closest being Butternut Basin Ski Area, a mere 7.5 miles away. The ski areas also offer snowboarding and tubing. Nearby lakes offer ice skating. Spring is a special season, when the trees, wild flowers and birds of the forest come alive for your pleasure and peace surrounds you.

"We have enjoyed an absolutely great weekend in your beautiful house and in the Beartown Forest. We enjoyed the weather, of course, and we've made several fantastic long hikes. We went swimming in lake Garfield twice. We'll definitely come back. Thank you very much!"
